Mission Statement:

Troy People Concerned is a service organization supporting Troy residents in time of need with assistance, information and referrals.

Troy People Concerned (“TPC”) is an information and referral agency. We assist the Troy residents who find themselves in a crisis situation by providing referrals to area agencies or by directly providing financial or other assistance. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency established in 1974. TPC is governed by a volunteer board of directors that set the policies for the organization. We hope you enjoy your stay at our web site.

Troy People Concerned (“TPC”) is a 501c(3), non-profit information and referral agency established in 1974. TPC assists the community by providing referrals to area agencies or by directly providing assistance.

TPC relies on volunteers from the community for support. Volunteers serve on the Board of Directors, drive seniors for medical and dental appointments and help local residents for holidays.

The TPC Board of Directors is comprised of individuals who represent local churches or organizations. The board meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at Alliance Mobile Health, 2045 Austin Drive in Troy. All major decisions regarding the policies of TPC are made by the board.

Information and Referrals are made to those who call by using a directory that is maintained with information about agencies and organizations. If TPC cannot assist the caller, referrals are made to many different organizations for help with financial assistance, furniture needs, food, clothing, legal assistance, housing and many others.

Transportation is provided by volunteers who drive their own vehicles to take seniors for medical and dental appointments. Drivers are asked to drive no more than one or two times monthly, and scheduling is done around the schedule of the volunteer driver.

Emergency Food is provided upon request for Troy residents. TPC is grateful to St. Anastasia Catholic Church for maintaining a food pantry. Food donations are received from the community and given to those in need. In addition, grocery store certificates are given to supplement the food from the pantry. Several families receive food, personal items, or certificates donated to TPC by organizations or individuals.

Financial Assistance is given on a limited basis for Troy residents who find themselves facing a crisis situation. This money helps a number of families who are unable to pay their rent, gas and/or electric bills.

Furniture and Appliances are requested by many who do not have the resources to purchase these needed items. TPC does not have storage for such items, so a waiting list is maintained. When a call is received from a resident wanting to donate such items, the waiting list is checked and the item is given to the next individual on the list requesting such an item. If there is no client waiting, referrals are given to several local agencies.

Holiday Assistance is provided for qualified Troy residents for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Valentine’s Day. Donors are given the names of these residents, and the donors provide the food and/or gifts and delivers the items to those in need.
