Cindy Stewart, President

I have served as the Community Affairs Director for the City of Troy since 1998 and been a Troy resident since 1999. I volunteer with a number of local non-profit organizations whose missions I strongly believe in including the Boys & Girls Club of Troy, Troy Historic Village, Troy Youth Assistance, and Troy Community Coalition. I love staying busy and helping my community in any way that I can. As a Board Member since 2010 and the current President, I believe that Troy People Concerned truly makes a difference in the lives of those in need. There are so many ways to give back and I encourage everyone to become involved in this wonderful community.

Paul Balas, Treasurer

Paul is a 45 year Troy resident and has been on the TPC Board for 6 years. In addition to his TPC activities, Paul serves on the Board and Executive Committee for the YMCA for Metropolitan Detroit, is an Executive in Residence at Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business and is the current Chair of the State of Michigan Board of Accountancy.

Paul believes in TPC’s mission and has seen firsthand the positive impact TPC has had on children, individuals and families in the Troy community during times of crisis.

Joel Love

I have been a City of Troy resident for over 30 years. The city has provided my family with excellent schools, recreational activities, and more than we could have imagined. After retiring, I wanted to assist the people of Troy with making their family experience better. Troy People Concerned is the avenue that will move the needle for the people that need it.

Mimi Ashamalla

Mimi Ashamalla is a retired Electrical Engineer. A member of Troy Women's Charitable
Association since 2003. Served on the board in different capacities multiple times. She is on the current board. Chaired and was a member of many project committees. Active member
with her church, St Mark Coptic Orthodox Church. Coordinator of St Verena Visiting Angels, a
group who visits and supports sick and homebound people. Member of the Greeting
Committee. And many other services.

Paul Walters

has served as the pastor of Lutheran Church of the Master, Troy, MI since 2010. He believes investing in people and living with compassion will make a difference.

Richard Snyder

Richard (Dick) Snyder has been an active TPC Board member since 2010, serving as the TPC President from 2010 to October 2019, and as Vice President from October 2020 to April 2023. He is passionate about helping the Troy community and is a strong supporter of TPC. Dick provides insight into the everyday operations of the organization, and volunteers countless hours during fundraisers and by procuring donations to help families in financial or food crises.
